All there is to say really about guns in the US. [nytimes.com]
I do agree there are too many guns out there, but I think other factors are downplayed in these cases or not explored. For instance in the case with this Dayton shooter, they are saying there were these massive red flags in this gun man's history, so how is it that he walks out to his car and grabs his gun, mask, and body armor like no problem? Given his mental health history wouldn't family strongly discourage ownership of such items in the first place? Where was he at in his mental health treatment? If he wasn't receiving any WHY NOT? What psyche meds was he on? The list of questions can go on and on. This is all information the public should have full access to in all of these instances, I believe. Because even if stricter gun laws are passed I don't believe this will end. The number of instances will probably decrease, which is a desirable outcome, and why I agree with red flag laws and some gun control laws, however I don't believe that alone will completely stop these occurrences.
This is a never ending discussion. And I am not hopeful for any real change. I have stopped having the discussion anymore.
Exactly, America the Paralyzed. It's disheartening to say the least.
