Nature is painting
for us
day after day
pictures of infinite beauty
if only we had
eyes to see them.

                                                        John Ruskin

Hmm I would never take John Ruskin's opinion on beauty. Look what he thought of
Euphemia (Effie) Gray.

Ruskin's explanation of why he didn't fulfil his marital duties: "It may be thought strange that I could abstain from a woman who to most people was so attractive. But though her face was beautiful, her person was not formed to excite passion. On the contrary, there were certain circumstances in her person which completely checked it." I should think that explains it.

Sometimes we have the eyes but not the time or opportunity...😔

My wife and I have found that photography helps us have a new perspective on beautiful things. Getting the right composition, the right angle and looking for the best colors helps us to appreciate nature in ways that grow with each day. Getting up very early helps also.

Open our eyes, slow down, and look.
