I am thinking about moving from Texas to Washington DC. The expenses do not bother me nor the weather. I am very progressive and am suffocating in Texas. There is also nothing close by to drive and see just over a week end or a long week end..

What would you say in terms of people, city layout, city functioning, conveniences etc.?

Would I gain more than what I will lose?

Here is some discussion on Quora

In my two recent trips driving across the US, I found the west coast ultra competitive and rude. The mid-west or middle states were ..braindead, personalityless, and borderline hostile.

Eastern states varied tremendously, with the most obvious rural/ urban split; cities typically competitive, though far more settled than out west. The eastern rurals have been dicy.. If you look like ‘em, yur almost in. If not..

I live alongside New York...my impression of the City is, they are impatient. The rest of the state, (huge and absolutely beautiful!) Is very friendly!
