Agreed!

I guess that went over my head because I don’t understand what you’re saying. Some people don’t respect anyone and it has nothing to do with quid pro quo.

All respect must be earned, not demanded.

Respect should be given until it's proven its not deserved. Sometimes that doesn't take long.

@NoPlanetB but how does one go about earning this respect, anyways? How does your behavioral criteria differ from everyone else's?

My first thought when someone says people have to earn thier respect is "What makes you so freaking special? How do you know how many people's respect this person has earned already, what they've been through, battled against and succeeded or failed at. But most importaintly, why should they even want to earn your respect if you aren't respecting them to begin with?"

@NoPlanetB, @1of5 Tell me a lie, do/say something nasty to, say, a helpless waitstaffer, or make racist /misogynist comments, especially As If you think I will agree, etc etc etc. I notice! Oh, and Demanding respect makes me think you are a fool...

@NoPlanetB that's our difference, then. Just existing grants someone my respect, words and deeds are how it's lost.

I'd say it pretty much hits the nail on the head doesn't it?
