I think this analysis is spot on with regard to the Democratic candidates.
Joe Biden lacks a vision that’s relevant to this time.

I'm not thrilled with the available choices either. However, Biden's age might be just what we need. Trump has knocked back or destroyed so many things... We need someone who has been around a while to know what needs to be fixed and how.

The next president won't have time to lead.... They will be in full blown damage control when Trump is through screwing everything up!

I can't see Bernie as the man... He reminds me too much of the Aardvark on Pink Panther when I was a kid...

You mean Boring Biden?

As long as trump is gone get over it or we lose again no repeats of last election . Do not get distracted like last time the country cannot afford more of this shit . Any Democrat is better and can be flexible to the will of the people. Lose that thought or we will not recover from this nightmare .

Unless another candidate can get the support of the black community, Biden will be the guy. It is that simple.

I will vote for him, but will be pissed off about it.

@gigihein It will be okay if he wins. If the Senate doesn't change it won't matter who the Dems nominate because they will be able to get very little done if McConnell or someone like him is the Majority Leader. Biden does have strong points. Leaders around the world know him and trust him. He does have long relationships with a lot of Senate Republicans and maybe he can get some things done. At this point he probably can get quite a few disenchanted Republicans to vote for him in the general election. I am a progressive, but this is not yet a progressive country. Maybe after my generation (Boomers) passes on, it will lean further in that direction. Personally, l like Warren, but I have no problem with any of the Democrats running and will vote for whoever gets the nod without reservation.

@Sticks48 I get it, I would vote for whoever they nominate.just sick of the status quo. Even though Trump.makes the lawmakers who are everyone 's birch except their constituents and a senile President who has seemed to be behind the times of what was happening in our country. He seemed to miss the womens' rights revolution back in the day. His excuse for how he participated in Anita Hill inquiry and being touchy feely is that in his era men were clueless.Gloria Steinem is 85.I don't know if growing up in Miami gave me more access to what was going on. And what about the Hyde ammendment, he did reverse his position, but claims has fought for women's rights his whole career, but the Hyde amendment takes the right to have an abortion from poor women who have medicaid. Taxpayers will foot the bill for having a baby and helping support it. I am glad there are progressives like you. I just don't get it, as you sad, the baby boomers aren't more progressive, since it was my generation that lived through a more militant time, from my perspective.

@gigihein My father told me back in the 70's, folks are Democrats until they make money, then they switch parties. Our generation is pretty much running things and fucking things up. We started out pretty good and then greed took over. I have felt for a very long time that greed is America's Achilles' heel and would be our downfall. I do hope I am wrong.

@Sticks48 me too. Hope we both are. My kids are in their 20s and granddaughter only 3. Makes me feel helpless and angry.

@gigihein I don't blame you in the least. I have no children, but I have friends and family who have children and grandchildren, and I do worry for them very much so.

I agree with you. My fear is the nomination will go to Biden, because Dems know we would vote for whoever they put up.there. I think they say a centrist will get the votes from Republicans fed up with Trump, as an excuse.
I was excited when the justice democrats helped candidates get new blood in Congress who aren't beholden to big corparate interests since they weren't taking their bribes. Warren talks about this and I think it is something Americans will want. Biden has lots of support from banks/credit card companies. Those we have elected that are there don't want that money stream to go. Am I too cynical on this???
I am sick of voting for the lesser of 2 evils. The corruption has to go, If lawmakers take money or invest their money in certain corporations they should not be able to vote to line their own pockets! Biden is a dinosaur and not up for the transformation that needs to take place to save the planet, and overthrow the companies that are destroying the planet and democracy.

If you’re too cynical, then I have good company.
I agree that Biden is a dinosaur (possibly not in good state of mental health). I really don’t see him lasting through the primaries. When Democrats run as moderate Republicans, people just vote for a real Republican.
I think it’s going to take a progressive campaign to win the next election.

@Haemish1 well good to.have good company when bitter and jaded about the state of our country.
