I believe they’re just being cautious. They’ve been wildly successful at bamboozling the public into thinking we actually have some control over our lives. They’ve consolidated the media into a PR arm for war mongering, mass incarceration through fear mongering (Hillary’ infamous “super predators” characterization of black people). They’ve written most of our laws around regulations (it’s not that poisons are toxic for us, but what LEVELS of poison are acceptable to pump into our air, water and bloodstreams) And they own politicians. Their declaration about corporations being socially responsible reminds me of fossil fuel company TV ads promoting themselves as stewards of the environment. Bold lies designed to keep the public from revolting.
