I am going to take a whack at this: First, let's cut to the chase. Anyway you slice this, it is a separation of things. It hurts to even think about it but even though there is a severing of the relationship, she showed that by her decisive actions, she was able to take matters into her own hand and release the cause of the matter that had filled her with such dread in the past.
