So my son had his first surgery today to fix his cleft lip and palate. The surgery went very well and he is doing good. I am 0% religious, but many caring folk told be that my son will be in their prayers. Which was actually very comforting. Even if it is just people thinking good thoughts and wishing the best for him. I very much appreciated it. Which is new for me. What do you all think of people praying for you or your loved ones during difficult times? Do you accept them or deny them?

Depends who and depends when....strangers or medical staff really piss me off THEY ARE NOT well meaning they are imposing stupidity and confessing incompetence.....if it is extended family that's par for the course and I thank them without comment.....no real friend of mine would impose delusional ideas in a time of concern and if one did I would ask if they were asking me for more LSD.....shamanism is NEVER comforting and always reminds me of millenia wasted billions of lives lost because of insane ignorant religions delaying science medicine and health
