And people wonder why there are "climate deniers." This article demonstrates, to my mind, a close parallel between climate doomsday-sayers and Christian fanatics predicting the end of the world, over and over and over again.

Again, placed this under politics because that's what it is at its core.

So you are incorrect right off the bat by comparing something that is real and happening (Albeit more slowly) to something that is not real.

Seas have risen 6" more or less since the 1970s... Also, the articles saying the seas would die is pretty close to coming true as we watch coral reefs die off in mass numbers.

I think they go for the big headlines to grab attention obviously. Most people don't care what will happen in 100 years. Too bad. Shit, most people don't care about what is happening now!

just shows how naive ppl are. most wouldn't even bother reading the above & if they did they would dismiss it as climate change denial b/c their minds are already made up.

You can't argue with Christian fanatic, they have made their mind up too.

What's True
In the late 2000s, Al Gore made a series of high-profile statements suggesting the possibility that Arctic sea ice could be completely gone during the summer by around 2013 or 2014.

What's False
Gore did not himself make these predictions but said (in some cases erroneously) that others had; Gore never referred to a year-long lack of ice for both poles, but instead largely referenced Arctic sea ice in the summer.

To setup on an agnostic site comparing Christians fanatic to 97% scientists who state global warming is mostly man-made. Is unethical, illogical, unfactual, nonevidences, horrible unimaginable and stupidest idea I have ever heard.

Thankyou for your like, anony

For a second there, thought I blew my top.

Doomsdays have been predicted by scientists 7 times before since 1970s. Al Gore said the world would freeze by 2014. We even gave him a Nobel and Oscar. He is now rich and not to be seen. He did not even attend the climate summit at the UN recently. Lol.

We are suckers and taken in easily every single time.
