I guess it depends on ones definition of 'adore'. Yes, one must love oneself first but I feel one must also leave room for another. Unfortunately, at our 'stage of life' there have been too many failed encounters and has made us jaded. I have been there but I have also been with someone who showed there can be a benefit with shared 'adoration'.

You have to love yourself before you can even think about anyone else much less love or adore them.

Loving yourself is much more than being selfish.

I take it you mean a god, and not some other sort of entity. If so, that is a different way to look at it.

Personally, I think it is the epitome of selfishness to think that an almighty creator of a universe, who created all life with a purpose in mind, is at one's beck and call--being their buddy, answering their prayers, while simultaneously ignoring millions who are suffering in a myriad of ways.

If you mean any kind of entity, that is different. There are many entities outside of myself that I adore: my children, grandchildren, other family members, pets; and perhaps, some day, I will adore a partner. If you cannot adore some sort of an entity along these lines, because you adore yourself too much, then I guess you are selfish.

I have no idea what to do with this thought.

My first thought was that she stays home and masturbates all day.

@Donotbelieve I KNEW there was a reason you turned me on! šŸ˜‰
