It’s definitely been introduced to the process; my guess is reagan ‘made it mandatory.’ Seems an attempt to ‘cover all the bases,’ assuming those not soaked in religion will simply accept it.

I don’t, but remember it - and when it’s proclaimed by someone I’d have supported ...I’ll back off.. They may never know, unless we tell them. It’s finger-to-the-wind politics, … and when it’s connotations become negative, it will hopefully slither back under the rock from which it came..

The ‘art of politics’ appears to be one’s ability to show & share a likeness of sorts with the majority. Though none appear to have run as open Atheists, I’ve no doubt numerous US Presidents have secretly doubted it’s validity. Had they announced that ..we’d likely have never heard of them ~

Some said Trump was the first atheist president in the beginning because he is clearly not a religious person. He is such an opportunist that he clung right to the rhetoric and now he gets the religious vote.

I don't know if anyone agnostic will, but I have hopes for an atheist. Maybe Trump is an agnostic or an atheist. He certainly doesn't believe the stuff he spouts about god and christianity.
