Outrageous

This is just too ghastly to comment on.

Gosh, this is more common than we know. In many societies in the world where patriarchal systems are strong, it is disastrous to even raise your voice in a joint family where the head of the family's voice is final.

There is no outcry, child agency, social worker, MeToo, or anything. It is only the voice and dictates of the man who is a head of the family. India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, some African countries have such societies. It is a big deal in Western societies but not in many others outside.
