We are receiving more reports of coastal flooding in the Upper Keys. WFO Key West has issued a coastal flood statement for minor coastal flooding. Minor saltwater flooding will continue to affect the Florida Keys with total water levels reaching nearly two feet above mean sea level, or up to one foot above normal predicted tide levels. Water levels will remain high, with little to no relief at no tide. Minor saltwater flooding of low elevation streets and lots, some storm drains will overflow, and some seawalls and docks will be over-topped. Boaters can expect less clearance under fixed bridges and motorists should remember that persistent puddles around the times of high tide are almost certain to be a mixture of saltwater.
