Neither.

I can use the holidays not to go to work and travel for fun. I have no reason to dread anything. I do not buy gifts and refuse to receive any gifts. Everybody in the family and extended family knows it. Life is easy.

I don't have any holy days to prepare for. So I guess I am always ready.

Like the season, don't like the holidays. Best called Yuletide; and I shall take my cue from the old pagans, who celebrated the turning of the winter, when the days get longer. So I shall avoid buying any Christmas tat, make a donation to charity, send a very few of my best friends a secular Yule card, bring some evergreens into the house to keep up tradition, (no bought decorations) have a good meal and drink to the coming spring with my friends.

Happy Holidays is a cop out for the PC crew.

Let’s change some of the traditional Christmas stories, songs and remarks and see how absurd it becomes

‘‘‘Twas the night before Holidays and all through the house....”

Of course, Dickens Classic ‘A Holiday Carol’

You can’t beat Slade at Christmas “So here it is Happy Holidays everybody’s having fun”

Holiday Cake, that’s nice; with Holiday crackers, and gifts for the children in the Holiday stockings from Father Holiday.

And the greatest charity record of all time

“Do They Know it’s Holidaytime at all”

Can’t think why ‘Holiday’ is interchangeable with Christmas.
