Not nearly enough.

How about heavily regulating and taxing all religious entities?

There are a few exceptions, those who actually do real good help the homeless, feed the poor you know what the others profess to do but enrich themselves instead, unfortunately they are a minority

No exceptions. Individual human beings, businesses and other organization do all kinds of charity but enjoy no tax exemptions. Religious institutions should not either. There are a lot of bad things going on under this exemption status. Religious institutions are not the only ones doing charity and good things in the nation.
