@OwlInASack Politicians on both the right and the left are mostly corrupt and/or in it for themselves. The only ones I can even begin to trust are the ones who want to reduce government's control over everything.

Why would I hold views that I believed to be unjust?

I hold libertarian views because I've observed people for long enough that I've figured out that increasing personal freedom is the best thing you can do for people. There are great public servants out there, but they rarely go into politics. They're usually the government employees that want to make a positive impact within their field of work. I'm a government-employed air traffic controller and I absolutely love being able to give safe and efficient services to all users of the national airspace system. I'm about as dedicated to my job as they come. If I were to go into politics, though, I would never attempt to increase government's control over the citizens.
