When I was growing up, I was in a pretty much constant internal conversation with God. I did all the mental talking, but I believed He (that old male God in the sky) heard my thoughts and sometimes made his thoughts known to me. When I stopped believing in God, I sort of kept up the inner conversation as a monologue--just me talking with me. Has your experience been similar?

I don't know, I never talked to god, but I still sometimes talk internally to my long dead father, especially when doing craft work and construction things. Saying things like. "You see if we use the large one, the cover won't slip over, but the small one only holds one tray up, so what we need is something between the two. And that we have not got. Problem."
