"....it speaks of such integrity to refuse to pretend that you're well just to help other people deal with the fact that sometimes we face impossible loss." Anne Lamott (Small Victories)
This resonates with me.

fuck pretending

I try not too. Socially acceptable to do it though in some situations. Most people do not want to disturb others with their feelings.

@GreatNani i don't talk to most people though xx

It's very much True, some losses are to much to get over

The actual quote comes from a passage in one of her books about a woman who has lost her sight. She refused to pretend all was well. People tend to do that, act like devastating things have brought some inner knowledge or happen for a reason and all will be well. That is not always the case.

Now it makes sense. It is nice to keep your posts short and snappy, but you can go too far with the delete button. Good post.

Without context, this quote was challenging to understand, because of ambiguity. How not well, and what impossible loss. However, those ambiguities don't matter. "Refusing to pretend" shows integrity.

I agree, I was thinking exactly the same things

Sorry but it does not resonate with me, taken out of its original context and being I think grammatically difficult or vague, it is hard to know exactly what it is about.
