I am still waiting to find true love, but know I will recognize it, if I do.
“She found herself grateful. Grateful for all the darkness, the heartbreak, and the betrayal because it allowed her to recognize true love when she found it. And she knew without a doubt, that all the broken, shattered, forgotten pieces of her soul were worth putting back together again, because she became her beloved, and found new light, and love along the way.”

It's nice to think that all the suffering and rejection might add up to something, but if it hasn't yet why would it later?

Something happens (in my experience) when that person shows up. Fool that I was, I didn't recognize it right away. But a few years into it, I saw that I'd never had anything like that. It gave me a kind of strength--a kind of endurance that I'd never had before. And oh yeah, verily I was tested. She pushed me away...for over a year. Then, she had the same realization as me. And sure enough, I was still waiting. By the time we got back together, we both experienced a depth of loving and caring for each other that we had not expected. And neither of us has any resentment for the trials we put each other through. One unexpected and un-asked for perk is that neither of us is jealous or possessive. We know that a loose grip lasts the longest.
