I had to actually make someone understand how crappy they make doctors / surgeons feel when they give their patient's families good news...but the response is "thank god" or all of that ilk. Yeah, screw the people who went to school for years and studied science and medicine and actually did the work of saving a life or curing whatever. Screw them. It's all some deity instead. I told them that if I was their physicians, I would charge them extra for insulting me, haha.
Just the same, I have at times before reminded people that the losing athletes of whatever championship have trained / worked as hard or harder than those who won and attributed their god as the reason for victory. This stuff is so annoying.

That said, my GOD, seriously get over yourselves. Most people nowadays say, "thank God" as nothing more than a turn of phrase indicating relief. Most people aren't actually thanking a fucking deity.
I say: "Thank God, Jesus Christ, Jesus, and Holy Mother of God" in multiple different contexts, and none of them are religious in nature.
Be offended by things like murder, rape, corrupt political leaders, and general human misery. Get over this petty shit.

Got to agree there. Many of you may not know that at the moment we have had some devastating bush fires in Australia in NSW and QLD.
There is a dickhead Christian rugby player called Israel something who has been shouting his mouth of saying that the fires are gods revenge for Australia legalising same sex marriage.
By the example above if god saves people from medical conditions it is also responsible for creating legislation for same sex marriage.
Is there a fundamental flaw in my logic?

No they have to say they do, because most of the US hospitals are part owned by or are affiliated with churches by being:
*Built on Church owned land.
*Built by the Church.
*Partially or fully funded by the Church.
*The person or people who paid for it to be built wanted it named after a Saint or to have it affiliated with their Church in order to buy their way in to paradise
@LenHazell53 According to this dated article 20% of hospital beds in the US are at church hospitals. The article discusses some of the conflicts between doctors and church-owned hospitals.
@WilliamFleming 20% of hospital builds are openly owned in full by Christian churches, this does not count hospitals built on church owned lands, administered and or sponsored by churches, hospitals built by commercial arms of church (In Utah for instance all hospitals are owned by either the LDS, the Corporations of the first bishopric, the corporation of the president of the lds, the Bonneville corporation etc all of which are arms of the LDS, the catholics and protestant churches all have equivalent commercial arms)
This also does not include hospitals supported or sponsored by religious institutions, or those who have clergy on their boards of directors.
The actual amount of hospitals WITHOUT church or other religious influence on their operations is nearer 15%
