As my late partner asked her 2nd graders, which is more important people or dirt? "In our education systems, we have come to think that soil simply means dirt and that dirt means dirty. But dirt is not dirty; it is the source of life. Without it there is no life." Still there are quite a few people who still don't get it.

The other word has been used so often we seem to be stuck on it even though it doesn't exist and has a deeply religious connotation. Can't we come up with a more secular word like inner being or awe?

That was a nice read thank you for sharing. There certainly is not enough appreciation for the soil and there are too many walls separating humans from humans, physically and culturally.
