Becoming a father was one of the reasons that made me question the Abrahamic god for several reasons

  1. I would not intentionally allow evil to come into my sons life to test him
  2. I would never send me son to an everlasting torture chamber just because he wasn’t 100% obedient for me
  3. Unconditional love is just that without conditions. You love them because of who they ar e and not how much they praise you
  4. Would never allow my kids to be molested. If I were god I’d zap a SOB before they touched a child.
  5. I would never disown my child if their sexuality is not one I preferred. I never understand the Christian who disowned kids for being homosexual. If my child were homosexual I’d still love him the same regardless

Quite agree. I mean, the founder is about to sacrifice his own son when in the narrative the roast meat loving deity stops him.

I know there are a myriad of psychological, cultural, religious interpretations to this homily but to take it literally is fucked.

I have always found the Abrahamic religions particularly offensive.

Why just Abrahamic god? Other faiths have own gods. I can give you one of the 330 million I used to have, you can actually take it all.

I’m not familiar with the other gods do I don’t feel like I have the expertise to comment on them even though I’m sure a lot have similar issues. Was just speaking on my own experience

@abyers1970 I was actually talking about the concept of God.

Also don’t understand how god can allow cancer in children. Starvation and genocide or slavery
