Religion has been evolving all along. The invention of the printing press had a large effect. Maybe the more mindless and dogmatic forms of religion will die out and be replaced with real religion.
I’m your perspective, what is REAL religion?
@Donne In my perspective, real religion consists of deep awareness for the mind boggling, staggering implications of the stark fact of existence as a conscious being. The result is awe, appreciation and reverence for the whole.
Someone said a long while ago. "The internet is the place where religions go to die." When it started religions were very keen on it, because they thought that you can use it to sell anything, you can, but if you put it out there you have to remember, it is also used to evaluate anything. What they missed was, the important thing about the net is, that because people can say what they wish, you don't have to be polite and respect peoples feelings like you do face to face. That is a harsh environment for ideas, and one especially bound to be hard, on those shallow beliefs unsupported by evidence.
I agree. I also see that with the widespread capabilities within the internet, information can be distorted.
I do think that's a big reason that the number of "none"s keeps growing so quickly.
