So so pissed.
The guy I'm staying with offered me a room in his house for 300 when I got myself on my feet to which I'm just about at.
Today he asked me if I was ready, I said yes I will pay them bi-weekly 150. All of a sudden he insists he said 400.00 and 50 more for utilities are not too much to ask for and quoted that was a third of the total bills.
Well, the house rents at 600 so my 3rd is 200.00 which would mean 250 is my third of the utilities and cable to which I only use the wifi.
That for an unfurnished room.
My first week here I slept on the floor on dog blankets. I bought an air mattress later.

I'm I wrong for feeling this way?
I'm I unreasonable?

for the past 3 years i have been paying $795/month on a fortnightly basis for a semi-selfcontained studio. now, after having raked in 31 grand in aussie $$, landlord, who owns the property, is kicking me out for reasons of "lack in spiritual alignment". my resentment towards people who abuse power in regards to housing, which is rampant where i live, is permanent.

What @jnei said and next time get it in writing with the date and signatures. There's no refuting that evidence.

Start looking for a new place, because this person can't be trusted. And when you find your new one, get everything in writing!

I so much agree. This guy wants me to carry him since he doesn't actually work or have an income. His Fiance pays all of the bills and I have donated 90% of my food assistance to the house.
I keep my area relatively clean and clean up around the house while this guy is glued to the PlayStation and Tv at least 18 hours a day no exaggeration.

Now I don't mind the paying part and I'm glad to help his fiance with these things. I just hate the shadiness of how it came about.
I'm pretty sure something else will pop up once I start giving them money.

@MartinG The one good thing in this situation is that since nothing was done officially, you're also not contractually obliged to remain for any length of time - so you can go as soon as you find somewhere else.
