Why women who stay single the longest end up the happiest.

  1. You won’t give up your career or other goals for a relationship
  2. You will learn how to look to yourself for love and validation
  3. You learn how to enjoy your own company, and learn more about who you really are
  4. You have more time to build other relationships
  5. You learn how to make your own decisions
  6. You learn how to be OK with being different

Yes i agree as some one who was alone a lot. But senior years are difficult. Might be worse if i had to be caretaker

This must be a cultural thing that applies to the USA. It certainly does not apply to the women I know from Kenya.
They have their own minds, married or otherwise, and behave as equals to any men. My wife and my daughter are excellent examples of happiness in equality.

@MissKathleen I had to look that up. It's American for prob'ly!

I like this list, but I'm male and I've been alone FOR EVER and haven't learned any of these things (except #1).

Does this learning occur naturally for women? Or is there some process involved?

We read "women's magazines" which dole out endless advice...it's what they exist for, other than to sell you cosmetics. I often thought men need something like that, but unless it was porn-ified, they wouldn't read it.

@AnneWimsey "men's" magazines are already porn-ified and are totally uninteresting to me.

@BitFlipper other than the occasional article on grooming or oral sex techniques, pretty useless except as an "aid" IMO.
Women are bombarded with "relationship theory & practice" from the time they can read, right aalongside the re cipe section. Lol.

@AnneWimsey as I suspected. Not being cynical when I say that women are the guardians of the knowledge and practice of emotion. Most of the valuable "self help" material I find online is by-and-for women. It's like a Weight Watchers meeting: men can attend but must translate everything.

@BitFlipper good analogy, lol!

And I, for one, admire and am drawn to women who think and live this way.
