Re: graffiti art and the wall
"Banksy’s conversation with an old Palestinian man emphasizes this bizarre interlacing between aesthetics and protest. When the man said Banksy made the wall beautiful, he initially thanked him. However, the man responded, “We don’t want it to be beautiful, we hate this wall. Go home.”"
Pretty imaginative. I wonder what the 'other' side looked like. As usual this post got me to thinking about another famous wall, The Berlin Wall (The Seattle Center inherited a painted section of this wall). [theculturetrip.com] It seems there will always be a way some people express their frustration through art. Perhaps there is even art on our border walls with Mexico.
Funny but the picture of the Trabant breaking through the wall sort of did happen. Germany went through a lot of trouble to get the first pollution standards in Europe when this happened. All the smoky Trabants coming over the border created a lot of problems for those standards.
