I don't usually read westerns but 'Lonesome Dove' is not like any other western. It's a book you get disappointed when you are over half way through it and know its going to finish.

Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy is also brilliant.

I loved Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.

Sure but sometimes we just like to be entertained.

@Jolanta you might find his tour de force entertainment in Hollywood settings and Barbara Brandon's film PASSION of Ayn Rand with Julie Delphy Peter Fonda Eric Stolz and a grand dame Brit Oscar winner most entertaining performances true to life
