I stumbled upon this a while back. They come from Toltec teachings and someone wrote a book expanding on the idea. I find them a simplistic framework for self acceptance and navigation in a chaotic world.

Thought I would share as it can provide an excellent bunny trail. I found this as well: [powerofpositivity.com]

Alone the 4 agreements are excellent for introspection. When I first read them I struggled with aspects of each, and feel I do better every day striving to be the best version of myself I can.

I hope someone finds these helpfu. Please post your thoughts!

Excellent teaching in some respects!

How much of this is real First Nation ideology because it has the taint of New Age fridge magnet pontification about it.

Not that there is anything wrong with that but so much of the 90s ‘enlightenment’ drew on mixed cultures and created a whole world of disparate ideologies to be perceived as unified in ‘Native Indian Chakra Healing and Numerology’ type practices.

@Decieven It was endorsed by Oprah Winfrey which gave it legs.

The Toltec thing is a problem as there is scholarly debate with regard to whether or not Toltecs were a mythically based entity of early Aztecs.

Not my field but I think their purported architecture bears resemblance to the Mayans.
