The residents of the Land of the Convict are going nuts over toilet paper because of a possible coronavirus pandemic: [bbc.com] . Those people are almost as demented as the evangelical religious lunatics of the United States of America. "Gawd help Australia!". Sigh.

I know and just the other day I was saying Aussie’s are too pragmatic for that nonsense.

Why toilet rolls for fucks sake and not baked beans or soup? I thought it was because of the logistic problems of supply but food would be more sensible than toilet rolls.

What am I missing?🤪

To answer your last question: Australia is also known as "The Land of the Drongo"! 😉

I love the acronym FOMO! This is all complete nuts of course and pretty “shitty” for those who haven’t got caught up in this collective madness, and just want to get their normal 4 or 6 pack, but find it’s going to have to be yesterday’s newspaper instead! This FOMO mentality isn’t confined to Aussies of course, here in the UK I believe similar behaviour is happening...I’d better get down to Asda before the shelves are emptied altogether, of everything...bog roll included!

Would I be right in thinking that Morrisons Sainsburys Tesco Aldi and M&S are all doing a roaring trade in ass wipes?

@anglophone Most definitely! My friend told me that she was in Boots the Chemist yesterday and the assistant told her that someone had come in and bought their entire stock of hand sanitisers...when asked what he was going to do with them all, he quite blatantly admitted he would put them on eBay! Maybe that is where we’ll have to go to buy our toilet rolls in the days to come!
