I have just come back from a spring hiking tour in Portugal, where spring seems already fully underway, and everything was in flower. Including Heathers, Lavender, Rock Roses and Man Orchid, ( If you want to know why it is called that, look at the bottom floret on the spike.) Maybe spring will get to Northern Europe and the US in a couple of months. Until then that will have to keep me going.

Where and how far did you walk?

All over the place, it was day walks with a car ride back to the digs, But highlights were, Monchique and the highest Algarve peak at Foia, Alcoutim and Guerrerios do Rio on the river Guadiana, and Querenca and the Fonte Benemola, plus a half day in Silves no walking.

@Fernapple A pleasant relief from an English winter. Has it been cold this year?

@FrayedBear No not especially cold, but very wet and dark.

@Fernapple lol, Unless it snowed and was a fullish moon it was always dark from 4pm onwards!

@FrayedBear I mean the clouds make it dark in the day.

@Fernapple Sounds like Ireland not Portugal.
