My second kid is off to college soon. The first just finished. I'm not sure it's worth the time or expense. It opens doors, but I'm not impressed with the quality of degrees these day; I'm a headhunter and can't believe how shitty most graduates' writing skills have become. Am I alone on thinking the entire (non-scientific) higher education system is hugely overpriced and under-productive?

Coach 'em up. Make sure their writing skills are good. Have them send you their papers. You're paying for it. There's little you can do to incentive them. But as a life long bachelor I've notice most everyone is motivated by money.

I agree! That's I told my son that if it is not STEM it's not worth it! He starts next year and will major in Computer Science (hopefully).

Not your decision it's their lives let them live it . (Ok you may be paying for it but that's what good parents do )
