You hear so much fake news out there, how do you discern truth from lies? They say foreign governments have spread fake news about the US. I just was wondering what are the many possibilities about the origin of the disease. Most likely, like it is commonly held belief, it transferred from bats. Is it a possible creation of some mad scientist? Possibly politically motivated ? Again that question would lead to asking - who would be politically motivated? It's all hypothetical. I think it transferred from bats. And maybe this question is pointless.
It has been shown throughout history that all pandemics of this type come from animals. Animals in the wild carry viruses but do little harm. When those animals are put in extreme confined spaces with other animals (with their own set of viruses) a stress situation arises. Mix in people and sooner or later the viruses will mutate and spread to people. Further mutations help those viruses spread to other people. Different viruses come from different types of animals. Smallpox come from cattle. It is our insatiable desire to have a diet heavy on meat that has led and will continue to lead to these epidemics.
DNA signature tells the tale. Bats.
Yes from what I understand it gets very detailed. They can even understand which people are from the original cluster of virus in a society because of mutations. So I wonder about the original animals. Was it wild caught or farmed.
In this article I just found Sen. is saying "we don't know " hmm? Our senator's didn't know

How does it work? Is there a point where all in senate and congress know? How does that effect our response to a biological crisis? Do we say "eh, it's natural no biodefense" or do we say " we don't know call the military?" I don't know enough about the process.
The more you read about bat diseases the scarier it is. Bats harbor a lot.
