The real reason GA Governor Kemp finally made a statewide "stay at home" order might have been to clamp down on more restrictive orders in individual municipalities.

"The order also gets rid of the patchwork county and city restrictions passed. No local government is allowed to be more or less strict than the new statewide order."

On Saturday, Kemp re-opened the beaches.

I hadn't heard about this. It's because his state-wide order supercedes local orders.

'"On Tuesday, Glynn commissioners extended the beach ban to April 30 and added the beaches on exclusive Sea Island. U.S. Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., is among the wealthy residents. Sea Island is privately owned by Philip Anschutz, a billionaire businessman.

Murphy considered the timing suspicious.

“We close the Sea Island beach on Tuesday and (Friday) night the governor reopens the beaches?” he said. “Interesting timing.”'
