Heisenberg's Cat?

No, Schrodinger's...

@Charlene My joke is obscure.

@anglophone very..though Heisenberg disliked this thought experiment..

You can either know whether your cat is sleeping or where he is, not both at the same time.

@Charlene I am with Heisenberg on this one. Quantum mechanics is an excellent model for the behaviour of things at the subatomic level, but cats are not subatomic.

(An 8 pound cat landing with great force on my stomach in bed at night is certainly no wave equation!)

@dalefvictor Try saying that to my cat. 😉

@anglophone If you are like me and have a bit of a belly it does create a wave.

I have a problem with Schrodinger, but I have no problem with your application of it. Perfect explanation and it should be used instead of the cat.

Best Schrodinger's cat joke this year so far.

I love that line from the Big Bang Theory when Penny is told about Schrodinger's cat being neither alive nor dead until you open the box and collapse the wave packet.
"Well when my brother anciently trapped his cat in the trunk of his car, we didn't need to open it up to know there was all kinds of dead cat in there"
