The first thing my Atheist mentor taught me was the seriousness of politics, if in the age of Reagan.. It’s what drives me to this day. There is only one party that can counter the pure evil the Republican party has become. It’s long been the party of the people, and still is.

Those not having paid attention, or perhaps even involved.. do not realize how the ‘the playing field’ has been changed - Citizens United Decision for example. Loss of The Fairness Doctrine for another… Add to those the multitude of Republican Voter Suppression, Intimidation, and Gerrymandering … and lock-step Republican scorched-earth political tactics -- and if the Democrats seriously plan to oppose them - that’s the field on which they're forced to play!

Why is it, those around here - as threatened by the Republican Party and Court you described … attack the softest target..? It may appear big & strong in their heads … but in reality -- it’s Chickenshit.

I await America's version of the French revolution. At the same time, I'm doubtful it will happen in my lifetime.
