The 2018 American Atheist Convention was incredible! So many great speakers with so many great topics. My favorite part was being able to attend SciBabe's wedding yesterday. So awesome!

Also, I now have the official answer to a previous discussion question about what atheists say when someone sneezes. "God Bless You." At least that is what the guy sitting next to me said (Mark from Arkansas). Afterwards, he laughed, as did a few others around us. The next time I sneezed he said "Gesundheit" though.

What kind of topics?

gater Level 7 Apr 3, 2018

Jim Helton - Local Activism (I had to work Thursday, so I missed this one)
Anthony Magnabosco - How to Convert a Christian in 15 minutes (missed it Thursday, but went to the same one on Saturday)
Mary Johnson (former Nun who worked with Mother Teresa) - Seperating the Real from the True from the WTF (and listening to a Nun say "fuck" 50+ times was the 2nd best part of the convention)
Anthony Magnabosco - Street Epistemology
Kim Abell - Pedophiles Suck
Live Taping of the Atheist Experience and Talk Heathens
Gavin Grimm - Losing Religion and Finding Myself
Shirley Rivera - Puerto Rico atheist relief project
Bill Nye Documentary
Comedy show (hilarious)
Mohammed Al Khadra - Islamophobe
Nick Fish - Atheist Voting Bloc
Rev Barry Lynn (theist) - Near Death Experience (I missed most of this one)
Live broadcast of The Thinking Atheist (I missed this one)
Mandisa Thomas - Who says community is dead
Hugh Laurie - Talks with David Silverman on stage
David Silverman - How the mighty get back up
Kelly Helton (13 year old activist) - Activism (very powerful speaker)
Jim Helton - The time is now
Alison Gill - Advocating for an Atheistic Future
David Tomayo - Artificial Intelligence
Brooke Binkowski - Be Skeptical
Andre Salais - Atheist Candidates Project
Yvette D'Entremont (The SciBabe) - Guide to surviving fake news (followed by her wedding)

@CidNickel Thanks. The day will come that atheism will be accepted as a round earth - however I fear that won't be for another 100 years. Religions can be so deeply rooted.

I wish I would have been able to attend

The Faithless Forum Conference will be in Dallas this weekend if you can make that one. 🙂
