Hate is what the republican party likes because Wall Street and hate is their friend! God never comes into the mix with these people! I do not believe in God and these republicans do? These right wingers are a damn joke! They use god as a hate weapon and I am sticking to my story! During a pandemic, the right wingers are arguing about abortion! Argue about the men who got the women pregnant!

Religion is a club! Catholics, protestants, lutherans, baptists! ETC! Religion is a lie! I went to many churches and all I heard was backstabbing when exiting a church! And you religious people call this religious???? I do not!!!

Morals is what the republicans do not have! The republican party is simply criminal!

I was born under the book! As I grew up, I realize the book is a big lie! God never believed in hate like the republican party of today! Republicans use god as a hate weapon! Republicans support the richest among Americans and are a fraud! Republicans as in Trump have told 20,000 lies to the American people and I am supposed to believe this idiot? No way will I believe this clown of a president!

Thanks for reposting. Maybe I’ll read the book. Especially interesting is the insight about interplay between static and dynamic forces as a universal principle. Taking a higher perspective is often the way to understand contradicting ways of thought and action.

I think we need both conservative and progressive values. The progressive awakes into the world and doesn’t like what she sees. She campaigns for things to be changed—to be fixed. She sees conservatives as obstacles to a better world. The conservative awakes and is taken by a sense of beauty. Liking what he sees, he want to preserve things as they are and sees progressives as misguided fools attempting to destroy the fundamental fabric of society.

Both elements have their role. Some societal problems NEED fixing, but without respect for core values the cure might be far worse than the disease, ala Pol Pot.

I think the terms liberal and conservative are misleading here. I like Pirsigs terminology better. Dynamic and static capture the idea better. Liberal and conservative are too politically loaded words, when the ideas in the book are not political in nature.

I am so tired of conservatives talking about morals! Conservatives do not practice the teachings of god but use god as a hate weapon! I am sick of it! You have these so called religious evilvangelicals flying jets on their parishioners dollars! Absolutely sickening to me!
