It may be impossible to verify but how prevalent is it for someone to say they are single when they are not? Has anyone had first hand experience with that?

I actually went out a few times with least two men whom I found out later were married. When I couldn't get direct answers to questions, such as where they live or where they work, I began to realize they must have something to hide, so I moved on. Also, if a man is single, he can't wait to show you his place.

All men are not "bad" but all men are bad. If you know what I mean? I would imagine the number of married men claiming single on dating sites is pushing 30%.

I found my ex-wife was on POF listing herself as divorced, in and she was seeing guys. I filed for divorce.

Had some bosses state they were single at meetings away from home.It cost me a promotion because i was not one of the boys i did not smoke drink or fool around and could not speak of my conquests. It wasn't any better among the women!

I've dated here and there and have run into all kinds. I try to be trusting, but when people hide things that's normally the first clue. Like not sharing Facebook or photos. Or Instagram. Or they have a weirdly restricted schedule.
Eventually I learn what they are about and decide is the situation worth keeping
