Tell me about the efficiencies of capitalism. This is about gleaning. How food shortages can be alleviated by gleaning. But there are enormous quantities of food going to waste and many people going hungry. If the system were really “efficient,” the hungry would be fed.

Not many are able to glean from fields either too far and no transportation or age/ infirmity

Hungry people could glean a lot of wasted peanuts after the harvest if they wanted to but I’ve never seen it done. I really don’t think there are any hungry people around where I live. Those that would potentially be hungry are getting their SNAP and have no motivation to glean.

capitalism's "efficiencies" are only concerned with "profits". hunger is an efficient way to increase demand - "profits" result. capitalism is often the favorite tool of the powerful to apply the thumbscrews. it needs plenty more regulation, plenty more.
