"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing you to scream at his employees. Sinclair Broadcast Group recently forced news anchors at its 173 local TV stations to recite a script full of Trump-friendly talking points about fake news and a biased media. The story blew up last week when Deadspin (one of Lifehacker’s sister sites) published a terrifying compilation of anchors reciting the message in synch. And the public is taking out its anger…at the anchors. Which is exactly what Sinclair wants you to do."

To be honest, the first time I saw it from local tv station, I thought they were making a statement to counter-balance that all-too-obvious right wing Sinclair commentator Boris What-his-name. Hah!

I haven't had a television since 1997 and did not miss it. However popular culture, i.e., "People" and "National Enquirer" have become part of mainstream news with the Kim and Kanye crowd a news staple.

@Angelface I don't have cable or the like, just broadcast tv, so my Kim and Kanye exposure is pretty low. 😛

@bingst At least on the computer, you can just not open that segment but that whole worldview is pervading everything. Why is a woman was over 38 mil for making a few sex tapes and selfies? I'm sorry, I don't want t see it considered a part of the actual news.

@bingst sorry, worth over 38 mil. I guess you can do the same w/o cable but still, why I'm not a shrinking violet nor crusading against mild porn; I just see that type as banal, not newsworthy. She and Trump would make a good pair.

@Angelface I totally agree. Btw, I've seen Kim's sex tape and she's pretty lame at it. haha
As far as things that are not newsworthy, I put sports in that category. 😛 I always cringe... no, swear when NPR news shows bring it up. Ugh.
