So this is strange. A woman messaged me on a singles site and we've been chatting back and forth. In my last message to her I told her I wasn't religious. In her long answer to my post to her this is what she said about that.πŸ€”

"...So yes it would bother me if you’re not a Christian. You don’t have to be religious to be a christian. Everyone thinks differently about what that means..."

Isn't religion the whole basis of being christian?
Strange. Anyway she seems nice😁

She seems to be devoid of brains. Affability and intelligence are often decoupled in that way.

I think she's equating religious to church-going, or perhaps observant. The most basic tenet of religion is belief in a deity, so she's way off the mark, in my opinion.

You said the right word last that matters... "Nice".

Maybe she's saying you need to believe in the God but she doesn't care if you believe the dogma?

I'm not going to believe in either. She's not worth it.

So if you don't have to be religious to be a Christian, then don't do anything that the religious would do, like:

Believing in a god
Praying
Going to church
Farting in the pews

She is just giving you another lame excuse that believers tell themselves to justify their hateful or weird actions. "Oh, I'm not like them, I'm not religious."

Yes she was. I think she was actually trying to pretzel the logic so I would or could say yes I can agree to that, Lol.
It was interesting that she grew somewhat angry when I told her I wasn't religious when its right there in my profile. Wishful thinking I suppose.
30 years ago when I was more hormones than person I would've gone along with it, took her to bed and then moved on. Things have changed a bitπŸ˜ƒ

A person who knew I was an atheist told me that since I was baptized as an infant in the catholic church I would forever be a christian no matter what. I was at the age where critical thinking starts that I believed that god/jesus like Santa {I capitalize his name because I am still hoping he exist, lol) and the easter bunny did not ever exist.

Yeah, that Santa idiot owes me BIG time.

@Bierbasstard I'd like mine, too! lol
