It is an odd thing that freedom of religion is often used as an excuse for the freedom to break secular laws, the freedom to be a bigot, the freedom to hate and condemn to hell and the freedom to define what actually constitutes a "proper" religion as opposed to a cult, sect or a pagan.
Especially by Christians, who will also be happy to tell you how no end of other Christians are not Christians at all and so should not have the freedom of religion to call themselves such.
It pretty much boils down to freedom of religion is the freedom to agree with whoever is expressing it.
