My level of love increased as I got comfortable with nihilism. Losing an ego feels like death. Losing control over one's own narrative feels like betrayal. It can be a long unpleasant journey to the bottom of the pit. When the convolutions of my life had unfolded and dissipated, the pit was dark and still. The light from the pit's opening embraced me. My love is now pure and not contrived. I highly recommend walking through the haunted house of an ego purge.
