Hey there! I have to share that I suffer from severe RLS and was not sleeping well at all. I was on Klonopin (sp?) for years which was a benzodiazepine drug and I was addicted. I am off of that now, have been for about a year but was not sleeping. It was affecting every aspect of my life. Anyway, I finally went to my Dr. and I have a new RX and have slept the last 3 nights! Its amazing how much better I feel mentally! I feel like my old self is coming back and I'm so excited and relieved! I'm not so crabby anymore, it sucks being in a bad mood all the time. I just wanted to share some happy news for once!

I have been on benzo's " oxazapam " for many years for depression and anxiety, I decided to stop on my own volition, I have never been addicted as stopping was no problem. What transpired was that I could not sleep, and on starting again, with advice from the Dr. I split one tablet and sleep has returned. I am surprised that 5mg is so effective......At one time I was taking a total of 60mg 3x per day during a bad depression bout, which was autherised by a medical nutcracker.
[ apparently benzo's should only be prescribed for approx. 2-3 weeks ! ]

Wow! I was on it for at least 10-12 years. My sister has been on it for 19!

@Presley1209 It's a generic of Mirapex, which is used in much higher doses for Parkinsons

I suffered for 10+ years before going on pramipexole. What a life changer!

Really? I haven't heard of that one. I'm on Requip now plus Trazadone.

Yay! I tried Klonopin for a few days inpatient, and I got off of it. I didn't like it.

Good!
