I’m curious of the algorithm calculating the compatibility percentage. I’m to old to answer questions as I think one would want to hear to “pick me!” It’s really rare to see a figure over 60%. When I was in school, that’s a D-minus.

I refuse to lie my way to an A

Just sayin’

I changed my profile here from community to dating just to see what would come up. I got a couple in the 90% but the majority were in the 50 to 60%. We are from all over the world and I think distance and age preferences probably have a lot to do with
the percentage points. It has nothing to do with your attractiveness.

Many years ago, I was on a dating site of sorts that asked a bunch of questions and also asked us to rank how important each item was to us. The algorithm seemed rather sophisticated by giving more weight to some dimensions of compatibility and less to others based upon the actual value we placed on it. I rather liked that approach and thought it would be more reliable than merely comparing unqualified answers. I think this site here just compares the raw answers, so if you like coffee and I like tea that would be a strike against our compatibility even if neither of us cares about the beverage preference of a partner.

I've often wondered the same thing. One of the things I don't like about it is the typical age range factor, as it totally ignores the age range preference. The distance factor seems to be the same way.

I pay no attention to that number.

The algorithm calculating the compatibility percentage Merely compares your answers to the profile questions to others.. It's not very sophisticated...
