If the "colonization" of space at the expense of indigenous creatures or ecosystems, as was the case for the Australasian Aborigines or the native American peoples by the Europeans then yes.
However if the lessons of history are learned and regulations are put in place to protect new regions and discoveries then no.

I completely concur with your analysis, and when consideration for other worlds becomes part of the plan what a wondrous surprise is in store for those left behind.
