Is the timing right or it is being over confident? [cnn.com]

Democratic nominee Joe Biden is expanding his transition team, adding a former presidential rival, vice presidential contenders and top Obama administration policy hands in new leadership and advisory roles.

Five Co-chairs

  1. A long-time confidant and former Delaware Sen. Ted Kaufman:
  2. Jeffrey Zients, the top Obama economic adviser who was tasked with rescuing the floundering HealthCare.gov website;
  3. New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who Biden considered for the vice presidential nomination;
  4. Louisiana Rep. Cedric Richmond, a top Biden surrogate and national co-chair of his campaign; and
  5. Anita Dunn, a senior campaign adviser.

Adding to 15-person Advisory Board

  1. One-time 2020 Democratic presidential rival, former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
  2. Once vice presidential contender, former national security adviser Susan Rice;
  3. Vivek Murthy, the US surgeon general under former President Barack Obama who has advised Biden's campaign on policy and campaign tactics amid the Coronavirus pandemic; and
  4. Sally Yates, the former deputy attorney general.

David Marchick, who has worked with presidential transition teams in both parties as the director of the Center for Presidential Transition at the nonprofit Partnership for Public Service said... "This will be the first virtual transition in the history of the United States."
