Really? The weekend was started here by a Nottingham company who found that letting their staff have 2 days off made them more productive.

There's International "Labour" Day. 1 May. Then there's America Labor Day, September 5th which was changed to the first Monday in September. It has nothing to do with Nottingham. At least not in the states. It marks the end of the summer season here.
