Social Security is not an entitlement, you paid into it, you earned it.

The Republicans have stolen from it, they are the ones that want to take our hard earned money, and they preach to the base that it is a hand out... not!

OK, off the soapbox, FICA, what we contribute to it. As you probably know there is a cap, and I will admit, I loved going out of FICA and getting a bump in my pay, that became my toy money.

But I'm now of the opinion, for the good of all, there should be no cap on FICA, even if you make $1,000,000 or more per year. That's more folks than you realize. And even at a fraction of that I went out of FICA for years. Removing the cap make Social Security viable for years, possibly centuries, and will allow for more generous payments.

I'm not going to call them "benefits" because that does make it sound like an entitlement! Which is what the conservatives are trying to imply.
