I think the first one I read was the best, 'Still life with Woodpecker'

I was lucky enough to read his first book when it first came out, 'Another Roadside Attraction'. I was hooked and couldn't wait for the next one to come out. The high jinx with finding Christ's skeleton and their dilemma if they should tell the world was very thought provoking. What an amazing mind and metaphor crafter!

It's been too long since I've read his stuff. Thanks for mentioning it, I really ought to revisit his work, I remember enjoying it immensely.

Half asleep in frog pajamas. I think that is the only book other than a choose-your-own-adventure that was written in the second person. I read his autobiography recently and it was really interesting.

Ohhh. Love me some Tom Robbins! I have read most or all of his books but years ago....How to choose? Another Roadside Attraction might have been the first one I read. Even Cowgirls Get The Biues and the one with the Camel cigarette cover. I heard him speak once—super impressive hot mess.

Even Cowgirls get the Blues. Hands down. Might be in my top 10 of all time

Jitterbug Perfume!

They are all great, but that one stands apart, in my opinion.

Myself, it was ‘Even Cowgirls Get The Blues’. I read it when I was in my early 20’s when I was still very impressionable. All of the characters had convincing philosophy’s only to have holes punched through them from the next character. The book really taught me to be more discerning to others whom tried to sell me their own beliefs. I learned from then on, only I could be my own guru.
